To design and detail steelwork, bins, hoppers and access systems to BS EN 1990 and its associated standards.
Bins and hoppers of all kinds are an integral part of
material handling systems. From a half Tonne buffer bin to a
20 Tonne silo, all bins need careful design considerations.
Can you get the material out of the bin without rat holing, bridging
or other problems?
Is the bin strong enough? Badly designed bins split or bulge,
especially square ones.
Do you need the bin to be on load cells, or have other volume
controls?
Over the years I have developed computer programs to help with bin
design. This allows me to design square or round bins with
confidence, knowing they will be strong enough for the forces
involved, yet cost effective. If the bin needs load cells then I can
design it and its support steel to provide an integrated solution
that will provide the best control possible.
